CROËS Gisèle
CROËS Gisèle
The Gisèle Croës Gallery was established in Brussels in 1976 by a young antique dealer with a passion for Asian culture. On her return from a 3-year residence in Beijing, where she had immersed herself extensively in Chinese art and history, Gisèle Croës decided to share her knowledge and promote a better understanding and appreciation of high-quality Oriental objects.
Over the years the Gallery has acquired a worldwide reputation as one of the leading specialists in early Chinese art; archaic ritual bronzes in particular have come to be recognized as the signature pieces of the Gallery.
Gisèle Croës has regularly exhibited at major international fairs such as the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris, where she has been present since 1980. The Gallery has also taken part in numerous editions of the European Fine Art Fair in Maastricht. Earlier this year Gisèle Croës had a much-lauded show at the prestigious Gagosian Gallery in New York.
An internationally renowned specialist, Gisèle Croës has been dealing with important collectors and foundations, as well as American, Chinese and European museums: all have been unanimous in praising her deep understanding of ancient Chinese art and her flair for discovering some of its lesser-known aspects.
The Gallery is located in Brussels in an elegant turn-of-the-century town house whose serene atmosphere allows visitors to contemplate at leisure a selection of fascinating objects.
